Today is the day! Our MILK MONSTER!

Grayson started offically walking today! We were in his room this morning and he just started taking off from his dresser to this HUGE giffafe toy next to his crib! He almost got all the way there. He did it again a few minutes later! He is getting so big! Yay Grayson! Grayson starts in the toddler room on Monday (no more baby room... its bittersweet! because by the time Corbin was going to the toddler room I was pregnant with Grayson, so who knows if and when we will have another baby in the "baby room!") and thank goodness he started walking because I have been terrified the other kids would trample my baby! Gray looks so cute with his little arms out wobbily walk!

Our little man is also a MILK MONSTER! OMG he LOVES LOVES LOVES milk! He can sign more and say "ma" for "more" and he signs milk, he puts his pointer and thumb together like a pinscher grasp, and said "mmm." I have started to limit his milk consumption a ton because he was drinking so much his little tummy would get full and he wouldn't want to eat any food and he got sick a few times from drinking and being so full. The only problem is is that he dislikes water now! I don't know what to do! He will take a sip and then throw it on the floor! If he sees Corbin with some milk he will crawl SUPER fast, seriously I never seen this kid move this fast, to try and steal his milk from him!

I have tried giving him Keifer, its a yogurt drink with a lot of great probiotics instead of milk. But he keeps signing "more!"

I think Grayson is going to be our quiet yet mischievous child! He is a BIG climber! He loves to climb on everything! He took apart his nightlight today and took the bulb out of the light.

Merry christmas and 13 months a day later

Merry Christmas! The Ziaja's had a amazing Christmas and I hope you did too! The boys got a kitchen and grill set and have been playing and/or fighting to play with it since! We got a lot of organizational things at IKEA and our house looks somewhat in order! Thank goodness because I was getting panicky at all the toys and sheer mess that is our house all the time!

Jason surpirised me with an Ipad and so I have been reading up a storm on it! Hehe last night Corbin told me to put down my ipad and come play with him! I love our sweet boy! I love my present so much Jason!

Grayson turned 13 months yesterday! Our sweet little guy is trying to walk still but doesn't have the confidence to go it alone! He is starting to take about 3 steps towards something then falls. He is talking up a storm on Christmas eve he learned how to say "thank you!" I was lucky enough to get it on video! Its so cute!

Grayson's 12 month well check

Grayson had his 12 month appointment. He weights 19 lbs 11 oz and was 28 1/2 inches long. Our little guy was not so happy he got three shots and a finger poke to test for anemia and lead exposure! He was super upset by the time we left! I was by myself with him (Daddy picked up Corby from school for me) and he was not happy! After a few minutes of holding him he was ok! Poor little guy he had a ruff day! :(

Corbin really got into putting up ornaments on the tree! The ornament next to the one he is putting up is a little boy with a surprised look on his face that plays "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus"and after Jason showed him how to play the song we heard that song ALL evening long! :)

I love this picture! Jason took some amazing pictures! Corbin looks so sweet! :) I was mad that Jason didn't use the flash but it looks so cute! Its growing on me babe!

Another favorite! Our tree is purposelessly bare at the bottom with the non breakables or just bare because we don't want Grayson to get them!

The boys school pictures finally arrived! Jason and I were AMAZED at how adorable ALL the pictures were! We ended up buying two packages! It was so hard to choose! If you have a two year old then you may know how HARD it is to get pictures of them! Corbin HATES stopping and smiling at the camera! Well I am amazed how they actually got him to look at the camera and smile! He has some really amazing pictures. I adore the picture of my sweet boys together! :) Grayson's teacher told Jason and I we make adorable babies together! Haha! I agree wholeheartly!

On Thursday night Grayson started taking a few steps! When I picked him up at daycare yesterday his note for the day said "walking lots today!" I though to myself "OH NO has he started speed walking since last night?" But his teacher told me that he was taking a few steps! Phew! Well I ran and got a big red ball and put him standing up and he seriously walked 5 steps towards me to get it! Wouldn't you know that he hasn't attempted it since! I quickly called Jason because he was on his way to pick up Corbin who was at his dad's house because he had been running a fever. Daddy was so proud!
When we left Grayson and I went to Chick-fil-a to celebrate and Mommy got a yummy gallon of sweet tea! We then came home and just enjoyed each others company the rest of the evening because Jason didn't come home until later.

Randomness Corbin ended up spending the night at Papa's house and he did really well! I was nervous! He slept in Papa and Granna's room with Aunt Tori next to him and he only woke up once at 1:00 am and stood up and kinda cried for a second but Granna went and laid down with him and he was asleep 15 minutes later. I was having major Corbin withdrawls and it was weird not to have him sleeping in our house! But I am so happy he did so well!

He started out liking this Bob the builder ride. (My sister made Grayson the sock monkey first birthday shirt!I found one online for 40 dollars that was the exact same and I sent it to my sister and she said she could make it for him! We love it Carrie thank you!)

Hehe while we were singing Happy Birthday Grayson kept leaning over and trying to grab icing to put in his mouth. He was having problems (he couldn't quite get the strawberry cream cheese icing in his fingers) so I helped him eat some!

We got Grayson a cupcake too! He had a small piece of cake and ate the icing off the cupcake.
Oh dear did we pay for all that sugar! That night we slept at my parents house because we thought that would be easier to not have to drive back the next morning and spend Thanksgiving with the family. Well Grayson woke up at 1:15 WIDE awake and he woke up Corbin who was sleeping with us and at one point both the boys were hysterically laughing. So when he hadn't fallen asleep by 2:45 we headed home. He fell asleep in the car and slept till 9:00. I talked to my mom about it the next day and the same thing happened with my sister, Merritt when she was 6 months old and fussy on a vacation and the waiter brought her chocolate mousse. She was crawling around the hotel room wired in the middle of the night.
Even though it was a pain at the time it will be a memory we can always laugh about and tell him!

Yesterday was Grayson's first birthday! We went to Chuckie E Cheese. We usually go there when my sister and her nieces are in town. I think overall Grayson liked Chuckie E Cheese. Jason's mom and his grandparents came too as they were in town from St. Louis. It was nice to spend Grayson's birthday with so much family! I was so excited that I got have the day off and spend Grayson's first birthday as a family! We were also fortunate enough because Jason took that entire week off too so Daddy got to spend Grayson's first birthday with him too!

As of now Grayson can say about 10 or so words, ball (this is his favorite word he says it ALL day! He loves playing with balls and he even sleeps with a lot of his ball toys), dog, Mama, Dadda, no, bubble, choo-choo, car, wave hi and say hi and bye, uh-oh, Ohh li ( he does at my parents house, they have a large chandelier in their kitchen, he looks up says oohh and points to the lights!), he is now starting to do it at our house because we have our Christmas tree up! :)

We love you so much Grayson. We are so amazed at how quickly this year fly by! I kept teasing that it felt like I just had you! Wow people aren't kidding when they say once the second child comes house quickly life just zooms by!

You are the sweetest most lovable baby, who according to my babycenter development emails that used to say "my baby this week and their age" now says "my toddler this week", hehe I don't quite agree with the my toddler this week! HE IS STILL MY BABY! I guess I don't want you to grow up too fast! Grayson is moving up to the toddler room starting the first week back in January! I am worried what if he doesn't walk, will the other kids hurt him? He's tiny! When we took Corbin for a visit to the toddler room he was SOO small compared to the others. I seriously feel like a new parent with all these insecurities! Hes my baby!

5 year anniversary

Our five year anniversary was on the 19th. Jason and I celebrated by going to San Antonio and stayed on the Riverwalk at the Hotel Contessa. We both took the day off and loved spending time together. My parents kept the boys for the night. It was amazing just to spend the day with Jason and not worry about kids and bedtimes!

We went to dinner on the Riverwalk, which was interesting! First of all the people sitting behind Jason kept making out the entire dinner! When Jason and I left I as teasing "hey you missed the show!" Then a Mariachi Band came and asked if we wanted them to sing, so we got serenaded. That was nice! The salmon I got was overcooked. :( We went and just walked around the Riverwalk and we got asked if we had money for a hamburger at McDonald's then the Riverwalk stopped at one point and we went to the street level and it was kinda shady so we hightailed it back to the Riverwalk! It was like 8:30 and we were tired! Parenthood wears you out!! We went back to the hotel and Jason ordered a few drinks and we just hung out with nothing to do, which was great!

The next day we went to see Daphne, Jason's sisters baby. We finally got to meet her after a month! We had been sick like every weekend. It was amazing to hold a little baby! Daphne is a cutie! We haven't been to their house since Jessica had her white coat ceremony a few years ago for medical school. They did a bunch of upgrades, like wood floors and granite countertops so it was nice to see how much they had improved it! Jessica and Ryan did an amazing job! Jessica and Ryan we love Daphne, she is precious!

It was fun while we were there we were looking through old pictures of Jessica and Jason and there was a picture you would have sworn was Corbin! It was amazing the resemblance! The genetics are strong in that one!:)

Jason I love you so much! I couldn't imagine my life without you. These past 5 years have been amazing! You are a truly amazing husband, father, and best friend.

Can you tell I am trying to catch up on our blog? Three posts in one day!?! I guess thats what happens when you have a 102.5 fever! The boys are at school because even though I am sick I HAD to go to work to do an assessment with my students because its due Monday and I had to finish a part of it.

This picture is awesome! :) He looks all tough and ready to run on the field as a quaterback! :) That letter jacket couldn't be more perfect! My mom bought it for Grayson from Gap!

Grayson got his first haircut the day before Halloween! We only got his "bangs" cut because Anet didn't want to cut the back until it fills in.

No More bottles!

For a few weeks now Grayson hasn't been drinking from a bottle or nursing for that matter he is completely weened much to my dismay (I wasn't ready to stop nursing, but I guess he was)! He loves trying to get Corbin's almond milk etc in sippy cups, we really have to watch and make sure he doesn't try to sneak Corbin's milk!

Our sweet Grayson is getting so big! He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES balls! We got some super cute pictures in his letter jacket with a holding a football and he looks like he is ready to run out on field as a quater back. He loves throwing the ball to Daddy and I think Jason truly cherishes these moments with his son! We keep teasing that Grayson is going to be the athlete of our family! He still isn't walking yet but pulls up on everything and can stand for almost a minute without holding onto anything and has excellent balance!

Grayson now has six teeth, four on top, two bottom. I was happy when his second front tooth came in because he got his right front tooth and and left incisior and just had those for awhile. Now he has both front teeth and the ones next to them on each side!

I love that Grayson goes to sleep right away. His older brother has never gotten the hang of that and he just recently started regressing and crying in front of his door again! So frustrating!

The Ziaja family is SICK!

Oh dear the whole family but me is SICK! Although I didn't get off the hook as I had the stomach flu on Saturday. Luckily Jason was home to watch the boys as I was useless and stayed in bed most of the day Saturday because I was up half the night sick.

Corbin started getting a fever/cough on Saturday so he stayed home with Daddy Monday and Tuesday. He also got to go to my mom's and Jason's mom's house part of those days too! :) So he stayed home until today and I got a call while my kids were at recess saying Corbin had a fever. (He didn't have one all day yesterday.) I had to split my class and leave. I immeditly made an appointment at our pediatricians office. Corbin and I went together and left Grayson at school so I could then come back and work in my classroom to get things ready for my class tomorrow since I wouldnt' be there. Corbin checked out fine at the doctor, just a virus. We bought a nebulizer even though he wasn't weezy, because the past two winters hes gotten weezy breathing and so we have it for backup.

So Corbin and I go back to my classroom and it took me twice as long to get things done because he DID NOT nap but like 5 minutes on the way to the doctors and so he basically didn't nap all day. So he was being obnoxious. Jason calls and says he is sick and feels nauseous and that he is home. Then like an hour later I get a call to pick up Grayson because he has a fever! :( Oh man when I picked him up I felt so bad I wanted to cry! He was crying hysterically in his crib!

We had all been off though because Sunday night I could NOT sleep all night! I was up every 30 minutes. Then Corbin woke up and slept in our bed so Jason told me to go to Corbin's bed because I was tired and upset. Then at 3 Grayson woke up and was WIDE awake for an hour! I tried nursing him, which isn't really working because he basically weaned himself a while ago. (He is now drinking formula from a straw cup at school! :) Weird night in the Ziaja household! I figured that I slept too long on Saturday and was off schedule! No idea still why Grayson was up!

I hated seeing Grayson so upset today not my spunky, sweet adorable baby! He has been talking much lately! He can say 'car' and 'dog' very clearly! He is being a stinker at school and isn't really eating food at all. We just started bringing him meals lately. I don't know what I was thinking and kept just bringing baby food until his teacher was like you used to bring food for Corbin! Whoops! I am still trying to figure this school year out and having two kids I guess! ( bad excuse since G-man is almost 1!)

I just want our family to get well!

"Baby Daphne" is here!

Isn't Daphne cute!? We can't wait to meet her! :) We love her already!

Jason's sister Jessica, had her baby, Daphne yesterday! She was born at 1:40pm and was 7 lbs 2 oz and was 18.5 inches long. The boys have another girl cousin!

I was amazed when Jason texted me at work that Jessica had Daphne so quickly! She was induced Monday because it was previously thought a few weeks ago that Daphne was going to be huge, and her femur measurements were measuring two weeks ahead. Daphne was supposed to be due November 3 and she was just a normal size newborn. The ultrasounds towards the end aren't terribly accurate anyways. Jessica was already dilating. Wendy, mom in law told us that since Jessica is in medical school woman tend to go into labor earlier because they are on their feet 16+ hours a day sometimes.

We love her already Jessica and Ryan! :) We will be up to San Antonio as soon as our family is well!

some success

The past two mornings Corbin has wanted to wear underwear. He sat on the potty Sunday morning and went peepee! We gave him one of the reserved monster trucks we have for him because we wanted him to know what a big deal it was. He has it engrained in his head that if he goes pee pee he usually gets a sucker and if he poops he gets a monster truck. He has a place on his little potty training toilet where you can put toilet paper so he was asking for "Paper napkins" to put in there! He went to Jason's closet and got our toilet paper and put a roll on his little potty seat. He stayed dry for three hours but then refused to sit on the toilet so diapers went back on. Oh well we will keep trying to potty train him at least he initiated going!

Grayson is really trying to talk and walk right now! :) When he drops his sippy cup he say "uh oh!" Its so cute!!! When I ask him "Where is Corbin?" He will look in Corbin's direction, wherever he is. When I ask "Where is Dog?" He looks at Kylie! He does the same for Jason and I too! Its super cute! He is really trying to walk he will literally grab anythign, like this morning it was my cheek, and try to cruise from one thing to the next. He is barely holding on when holding onto my hand or finger. When trying to have Grayson walk between Jason and I, he's not that confident yet. He has to grab for our hand or knee or something.

Thomas was really fun! It was a great memory to share with the boys! Thanks Jim and Kathy for taking us! We didn't really get any pictures of Thomas the train because it was too crowded. I think Corbin would have had more fun if he had felt better.

He ended up getting a fever and was home a few days. He spent the day at my moms house yesterday (we kept him home from school yesterday and today) and he left "backwards bob" at my moms and he keeps asking for it! Oh dear!
