Our little Fish

As I mentioned in the last few posts, Grayson is quite the recent water lover. If you would have turned the bathwater on while he was in the bath a month ago the kid would have flipped out and tried to get out and cried until you turned it off. Well as evident in the picture he is not scared of water anymore! (sorry such a bad picture. We took it with the iphone really quickly!)We had just put Corbin in the bathtub and I see Grayson trying to get in with his clothes on. I turned around for one second and I looked back and Grayson was in the tub with his clothes on! The kid just wanted to take a bath with his brother! He didn't care if his clothes were on!

He has quite the 'tude lately which has surprised Jason and I lately because Grayson is usually the cuddly, sweet little guy. He is not shy about telling you "Go Away!" if he doesn't want to be bothered etc. We love you Gray 'tude and all!

Potty training and Cars 2

Corbin is doing so well with potty training! He is ever the stubborn boy and won't tell you when he needs to go and will just go on his own. I ask him every half an hour if he needs to go and he usually says "No!" He has only had a few accidents and some were just dribbles and he changed his underwear and shorts himself. He is very independent and stubborn! He can also hold it for hours! While we were having rest time on Thursday he even ran over to the potty and pooped! We were so excited we had to call Daddy! I have told Jason that we cannot leave him alone at all because he is starting to LOVE to hide when needing to poop. Daddy is still trying to learn this as two times when daddy was watching him he has gone in his underwear! OH well its a learning process for ours all! :)

He got the reward of going on a date with Mommy and Daddy yesterday, just the three of us to go to see Cars 2. He was pretty good considering every other movie we have gone to with him he is up and running around. He also didn't have rest time or a nap yesterday and we went at 4:15 to the movie which is usually when tantrums and all hell breaks loose for him and he is super tired by then. He sat and watched almost the whole movie but got antsy towards the end. the movie was super cute! We have been putting a pull up on when we venture out over our underwear in case of accidents and wouldn't you know every time we have gone out he has been DRY when we get home! At the movie yesterday towards the end he screamed I have to go potty! (This is one of the first times hes told me he needs to go. The first day we potty trained he told me "I feel like pee pee is going to come out" and then he ran and went pee!) So we RAN to the toilet and he refused to sit on the toilet! I discovered that he was DRY he hadn't gone for over 3 and a half to 4 hours! He made me leave the rest room stall and then he peed standing up! (first time for him!) I was so excited! Bathroom etiquette while out is something we are going to have to work on though! He kept trying to crawl under the stall and see Jason while I was in the restroom. NOT fun!

We also have tried to modify his diet this summer by eliminating excess refined sugar and cow milk. (You may have seen all these new blogs on my blog roll about gluten free/lactose/casein free and refined sugar free diets.) We decided to do this after both sets of parents have commented that he may be ADHD! We already knew this of course because I am ADHD, We have already all been drinking almond milk for awhile now although Corbin still does not like cereal with almond milk. My dad and sister are Lactose intolerant and we are trying to see if this will help with tummy troubles. So far Corbin has made a world of difference with eliminating excess sugar, he listens more attentively, and doesn't have as many melt downs!

Trip to Paradise and going private on the blog

Jason got Corbin a sunhat to swim in while I was gone!

Last week I had the amazing trip of a lifetime with my sisters and my mom. My mom took us all on a mother/daughter cruise to the Caribbean. My mom is an amazing woman who pampered us and showered us with love while we were on our trip. Many thanks to my mom for this amazing trip that I got to share with my sisters and mom! :) While we took no pictures while there because we were having too much fun, we did have a blast none the less. We did take a picture on formal night that we need to scan in and put up! It was a great picture.

My sisters, mom and I had an amazing time just doing nothing. I even read two books which is totally rare now as Corbin has given up naps and we just do "rest time" in my old bedroom and watch a movie together or read books.

We were even wild and crazy and went jetskiing on Aruba. I am glad I went with my little sister Merritt because she went really fast and my sister Carrie drove the other one and she was more cautious! I was terrified of tipping over and falling in the ocean though! But neither Merritt and I or Carrie and my mom fell in. They have the most AMAZING white sandy beaches! We also went on a underwater glass sided boat tour of an old sunken ship from the 1940's. We only lasted halfway through because we all started getting seasick!

I missed my boys like crazy! This was the longest I had ever been away from them since either one was born. It was nice to have a renewed calm and really miss my husband and my sons. I keep teasing Jason maybe I should go away more often to really appreciate what we have! :)

Coming home I just wanted to see my family! I guess I ate a little too much on the cruise because when we had to go through a full body scanner in Puerto Rican airport I heard they lady say in Spanish the word for pregnant! HAHA! In my defense I had a heavy diaper bag around draped across me and I was pushing out my stomach I guess. I was going to refuse the full body scanner anyways because my dad who is a doctor says they have way too much radiation.

The boys had an amazing time while I was gone and they went to Dallas to visit Jason's stepmom's parents and went to the aquarium where they saw Nemo's and Dorie's, Finding Nemo is Grayson's new favorite movie. Jason also discovered that Grayson is a fish and loves the water! Before I left he would cling to you like a baby monkey in the pool and wouldn't let go. Give the kid some waterwings and he LOVES the pool!

I am glad to be back with my family!

While on the trip I discussed with my sisters that maybe we should make my blog private so only close friends and family can read this. There are many people in the world who are good and wonderful but I want to protect my family from people who don't have the best intentions. So tonight or in the next few days I am going to have Jason help me make it private. I think you have to sign up using your email and we approve who can and cannot read our blog. I am sorry to take it to this level of privacy but I want to protect my family. Not that I write here much anymore because I am so busy!

Thing are going to get a lot busier tomorrow because we are starting potty training boot camp. I wanted to wait until we were settled in my parents house and back from my trip. Yes I realize our child is almost three and a half but with moving and everything it wasn't the right time and they say not to start once a significant change is happening in your family. We haven't even started looking at houses, as we are saving money so we are safe for another month or two.
