Banana

Boys, boys, boys! Our silly boys! I have a running list of the funny things they've done the past few weeks!

- Last Friday night we went to dinner with Jason's manager and his family at Brooklyn Heights pizza. I had just gotten done taken Corbin to the bathroom and then he had to go again! It was Daddy's turn and he is so used to turning around to give Corbin his privacy that when he turned back around Corbin was trying to poop in the urinal!!! OMG wish I had been there! Hillarious!

- After my haircut on Saturday I needed a new blow dryer and per recommendation of my hair stylists I went to get a much cheaper blow dryer, that I love, then the $200 one I was going to buy! On the way there Grayson starts saying "Banana, shh!" Of course we were confused and then finally figured it out when we got to Sally's beauty supply that he was talking about the crescent moon and he thought it looked like a Banana!!!!

- When we got to Sally's Corbin found a large hoop earring on the floor and so we took it to the front counter. Corbin was very concerned and was looking at the lady at the checkout counter to make sure it wasn't hers. While we were checking out the lady that lost the earring called to see if they found it. Corbin was very excited that he had helped find the earring!

- After bath the other night Grayson was being super hyper and kicking Jason while getting him in his p.j.'s. We told him he was going to bed early for kicking Jason. He climbed in our bed and proudly said "B" which we think means movie because then he said "Thomas!" He wanted to watch Thomas. He went to bed instead of watching Thomas!

Ear infections X2

Our poor boys BOTH had ear infections this week! On Sunday Jason and I noticed Grayson kept poking his right ear and we thought that was odd. He wasn't really fussy or crying. Corbin went to sleep over at the in-laws and Grayson woke up at 9pm crying. Totally not like him. We put him in a pack and play in our room for the night. His temperature was elevated slightly 100 degrees. So Jason said he would take him to the doctor and stay with him because I had parent teacher conferences. Turns out he his right ear drum had ruptured! :( So sad! He must have a VERY high pain tolerance because he barely made it known that he had an ear infection in the first place. He did have some cold symptoms as did Corbin.

Yesterday while getting my students through the lunchline, the daycare called and said Corbin was crying and upset because he said his right ear hurt! Jason had to come to my school to pick up keys to switch the carseat and one of my students asked if he was my dad! Hillarious! Jason and Corbin went to Chick fil a and headed to the doctors. Corbin had a double ear infection! He hasn't had one since we got ear tubes in at 13 months right after I found out I was pregnant with Grayson. Even though the tubes only stayed in for less than a year it helped him not get anymore dreaded infections.

I seriously think I jinxed myself yesterday though. I told Jason yesterday morning that I hadn't had to stay home or take a day off yet for sick kids. It was nice to be able to sleep in 2 hours later and be with our babies all day!

Play dough!


The boys and I stayed home today and made homemade play dough and I already have dinner made for tonight! Yay! I feel like super mom! Now I wish I could really be a super mom to finalize the rest of the crap in this house! We've made progress but still no curtains are up and we still have boxes in our study and the third bedroom. We have loads of things in our empty dinning room waiting to be taken to goodwill. Oh well! Spending time as a family right now is more important to me. My sister told me she would have already had it all put away! My mom and my sister are very motivated and won't sleep until its done! I am like that to an extent I get bursts of motivation but not on the weekdays. My sister and my mom are stay at home moms and may have more time then I do. I just cannot do it with commuting an 45 minutes to an hour depending on the time I leave work. I am to exhausted!

Gray and the moon

Oh Grayson how I love you! He told me a few weeks ago "No baby." When I was putting him in his booster seat. So we took off the booster seat. Well Sunday night he decided to stand up, which isn't unusual for him, he of course fell off and got a bloody nose! Scared Jason and I so badly! SO we put the booster seat back on! He is ok with it right now but is in this I am not a baby phase and will not wear a bib!

He calls himself "baby" if he sees pictures of himself! Its cute! This kid is a daredevil and climbed into our Valco stroller last night, while I was getting my pjs on, unbeknowst to me, and I hear a blood curdling scream. Grayson had toppled the stroller over! He scared himself pretty badly! He snuggled in and cuddled for 10 minutes. He hates to snuggle with Momma right now!

He is sorting things by color and shape. I have these shape sorters from my classroom that I brought home and he loves to sort all the transportation vehicles!

This kid is hilarious!When we walk to school every morning we look for the moon. I asked him the other day "where is the moon?" To which he replied and put his index finger to his lips and said "Shh moon sleeping!"

Day to myself

I had a very rare day to myself today! This does NOT happen often! The boys slept at Jason's dads house on Saturday night so Jason and I could try and do some more cleaning and organize our stuff. We have successfully moved stuff to the third bedroom. So basically out of sight out of mind! Its our junk room right now and not so organized but we told ourselves that we are going to set a goal to find places for everything during the weekends.I just keep telling myself this will get done eventually right?

Saturday night we went to the grocery store after we dropped the boys off. We had a glorious time not having screaming kids telling us they want that fruit/veggie etc. We saw a man with a baby who was "Helping" his daddy hold coffee while in his infant seat. I was telling him "how nice you have a helper! We have two helpers who are at their grandparents house." The man teased "why are you all on a date to the grocery store, you should be downtown?!" We were like yep your priorities change once you have kids! Besides going downtown is so beyond me right now! To be quite honest I didn't like it in college. I just went with friends to tag along! I hate smoky clubs where no one could hear me because my voice is the way it is.


I got up at 8:30 which never happens on the weekends. I vacuumed/mopped the whole house! Love having tile but its a pain to keep clean! Jason went to his dads house ot watch football with the boys. Then I got to cook/bake all day! Then I even got to watch a movie uninterrupted! So great! :) Mommy may need a day like this every once in a while! I missed our boys like crazy of course and I didn't get to see them until 7:00 last night. Corbin was already alseep because he didn't nap. Oh well!

This morning for the second time in a row I forgot my cell phone at home. Rushing out the door and having everything ready by 6:15 with two little kids under the age of 4 is hard work. I am not going to lie and tell you that one day Grayson went to school with two right shoes! He had to wear two right shoes all day too! Poor guy! Getting settled has been rough on us all!

I realized I forgot my phone while in our garage and decided it was getting to late and I would just leave it. Well I stopped on our street to buckle the passenger seatbelt because our car beeps if the objects/person are over 60 or 85 lbs or something (can't remember exact weight) and not wearing a seat belt. I continued on to work. The boys and I got to my school and then did our usual walk over to school, (which I am LOVING by the way) not rushing the boys to their classrooms, we can just take our time and spend time together and getting exercise in the process! When we were almost at their school I noticed a guy walking and he looked like Jason. I got closer and realized it was in fact, Jason! I was shocked and asked why he drove 40 minutes out of his way to my school. He said he realized I forgot my phone and apparently ran barefoot after me on the street and when I stopped he thought I had seen him. Its so dark at 6:15, I didn't! So he decided to bring it to me. So sweet! I told him later today that it felt like we were dating again, just the simple sweet act of kindness that makes your heart melt that we forgot to do for each other so often with the daily grind of life.

Thank you Jason you made my heart melt today! I love you!

Getting into mischief

We had an interesting week/weekend. On Sunday while I was cleaning up the kitchen and the boys were playing, Jason all the sudden screams "OMG Grayson is eating Advil!" I ran over he had gotten into my purse (shame on me for not putting it up)! Frantic we made him spit it out and tried to induce vomiting not knowing how much he had gotten. Putting your finger in a 21 month old mouth and trying to make him throw up is not an easy feat! He would bite our hands so we called the on-call nurse who immediately referred us to poison control. The guy on the phone told me to predict how much he may have eaten. There was a bunch on the floor spit out, THANK GOD FOR THE NASTY TASTING MAROON COATING! I said maybe 4. (He might not have gotten any since they taste so nasty). He said that although he got 7xs the normal amount for someone his size but that it was not a toxic level. Thank god! Jason and I were panicking and yelling at each other because it was so stressful putting our baby in danger. So after we heard that we calmed down. He told us to keep him hydrated, rinse his mouth, and give him a snack and just watch him.

Gray already had already been to the doctor that weekend for the second time in a month because he had another ear infection and what looked to be pink eye again! Two weeks later! So I am hoping maybe it wasn't too bad for him. Luckily he was ok! Wouldn't you know that he was fine the rest of the day! I learned my lesson and am NO longer buying the arthritis caps in travel medicine jars and am putting my purse UP!

Then on Tuesday the boys and I get home from work and as usual they requested Diego. I put a movie on and started to make dinner and went to the garage to put something in the recycle bin. I had left the garage open because I needed to move my car over so Jason could put his car in. Our Boarder Collie Kylie decides to run out the garage and RUN AWAY. I throw the stuff I was carrying and bolt after her. OMG she ran like 4 blocks away. The faster I ran after her the faster she ran. All the while I can see our house in the cul-de-sac with the garage door open panicking that the boys will realize I am gone and start going into the street to look for me.

Finally Kylie stops to do her business and runs to a porch and I grabbed her by the nape of the neck and pick up our 65 lb dog and start heading for home. You can imagine the sight! Here I am panicking because my kids are in the house by themselves, scared they are going to run in the street, and my 100 lb self trying to carry an almost 70lb dog!!! Halfway I finally cannot hold her anymore as I am aching and I grabbed her by the nape and her collar and just start dragging her. She is refusing to walk but I am pulling because I am almost in tears, out of breathe and want to get home to my babies.

Finally what seems like 5 hours in reality was maybe 10 minutes we get home and I walk in the door out of breath and Corbin must have been looking for me, THANK GOD he didn't leave the house. They were still watching the movie. We had that conversation that Corbin and Grayson cannot leave the house without an adult!

Daddy was late that night because he had fantasy football at work. Not so happy that this was the night the dog decides to run away. Kylie's tag had my parents address still on it and I was scared she wouldn't return home. She hasn't been out of the house since we moved because we have been busy and haven't taken walks with her to familiarize her with the neighborhood. We will be doing that soon!!

8 years

On Sunday the 4th it will be 8 years to the day that the love of my life called me for the first time! I love September because its the month that I met and fell in love with Jason! He called me the 4th for the first time, went on our first date the 12th, and became we a couple the 16th. I knew I would marry him within that month.

I keep teasing Jason that I would have a million of his babies if my body (c-sections and my pre-eclampia like symptoms aren't good to me) and money allowed! I could seriously see myself a Michelle Duggar with a million kids! We make some pretty adorable kids, I am not biased or anything!!! :-)

As this move/unpacking is taking a toll on our lives I am reminded how much I rely on Jason to be my rock in times like this. Poor guy has had to do a lot of the unpacking because I get SO tired from working all day. The other night I went to bed at 7:45 because my back was so achy I thought I was getting the flu! Luckiy I think I am ok!

I love you Jason!!! I love that our boys have so much of you in them! They both have an insane love for art, the boys have loved doing art projects and coloring and Grayson goes around saying "cauwa" (color) all the time. He drags a magnadoodle around with him and says"cauwa!" There has also been a few mornings like this morning when we get to work a few minutes early and so I bring the boys to my classroom and Corbin rushes to the art center so he can get scissors and glue and color. I had replace a paper I had out for a student because he decided to make it his own and cut and color it. I love how Corbin can be very stubborn a trait I think he gets from you! (I was a fairly easy going child (Gray is like me in that respect unless he has to part with his 'cycle' and have it go "Night night in his carseat" for school and according to your mom you were difficult!)
