SPEED and walker?

This morning before school Corbin told Jason he wanted to watch Monster Trucks! I asked Jason what he was talking about? I guess one day while I was trying to get my classroom ready Jason had put the SPEED channel (its a little boys dream channel car racing, monster trucks, antique cars etc) on and Corbin watched Monster truck racing. So this morning Corbin got to watch Monster Trucks because it was on. He almost didn't want to leave the house because it was on!

While I was making lunches last night Jason said he saw Grayson let go of our ottoman and try to step towards our couch but then he fell. I kept my eye on him the rest of the night but he didn't try it again! I don't know if Mama is ready for a 9 month walker! ;) We are so proud of our Grayson he has such the best disposition! He is such a sweet, kind little boy who is ALWAYS smiling!! This morning on the way to school he was saying "DADA!" So cute!

potty training FAIL!

This weekend we put Corbin in underwear for about an hour on Saturday and he did great sat on the potty, was dry etc. (We only did it for an hour because we had to go bc someone was coming to look at the house but then never came!) Then today we try it again. He was willing to sit on the toilet, then about an hour later still nothing he is still dry and then I go upstairs to do laundry and Jason is vacuuming and he brings Corbin upstairs and he had peed in his pants! I just told him it was ok and he is still learning! We change his pants then he goes #2 in his pants! Then he is starting to refuse to sit on the toilet by this point and will not even wear his Lighting McQueens because I tell him if he wears them he has to try to go pee pee. Then we have to do our weekly trip to the grocery store and when we get home he wants to wear his Mater underwear so I say ok great! He refuses again to sit on the toilet and ends up peeing in his pants again.

I know this kid is smart and is ready to start being potty trained! He has been staying dry for a few hours at a time and he is soo ready! If he weren't so darn stubborn and would just sit on the potty! I kept reminding him if he peed he would get a sucker! No sucker today! :( Let me just say its not going to be easy potty training while this freakin' house is on the market! I want to do the potty training where you stay home in underwear and t-shirt all weekend and just potty train! Not gonna happen with this house on the market at all!

In the mean time Grayson keeps crawling over to Corbin's potty and pulling himself up to it! Jason keeps teasing that he is going to potty train before his big brother! At this rate he just might!

Survived!

Thursday when I was getting ready to leave to pick up the boys Jason called and said someone was going to come look at the house between 6:15-7 so we had to hang out in my classroom. The boys especially Grayson LOVED it! He loved crawling around my entire room and playing with the wooden cars I have in my room!

I survived my first week teaching Pre-K! I really love it so far! Although it is hard to tell because I had four half days with my class...(the first week of school AISD does staggered start and a 1/3 of my class comes three days from 7:45-11:30 then Thursday the whole class comes half day. Friday the whole class comes again all day 7:45-2:00 like normal.) So my first three days I only had 3-4 children a day.

Now its back trying to balance school, home, and now keeping this house constantly clean! I am so tempted to take it off the market!

2 and a half!

Corbin and his cousins riding the train at Barton Creek Mall! Its a cool train that is not on a track and it goes around an area of the mall. He loved it! :)

Corbin will be two and a half tomorrow! I cannot believe it! Time flies! ;) Man is this kid two and a half and has a mind of his own! :) Corbin started in his new classroom this week and really likes it! His teacher told me today that she has to hold his hand when they go outside or he will bolt! He does this to me EVERYTIME I pick him up from school and it started after we started bringing Grayson to Corbin's school. I am trying desperately to break the habit as its not easy to carry Grayson, lunchbox, diaper bag etc while trying to get Corbin to come with me. I walk off more times then I care to admit and he does NOT follow me. So frustrating! We have tried time outs, telling him he can watching his favorite show on my ipod in the car, etc but nothing has worked long term. So I still need to brainstorm on this and see what we can do. The other night he scared me really bad, we were at dinner with my parents because they were leaving to take Brenton to college in Kansas the next day and Corbin decided to almost run into the street in front of a truck. I was so scared that I told Jason to spank him (we don't really spank in our house because it just makes Corbin hit us back and does not work) but my mom and sister both got him away from street in time, said it was too late after the fact.

Our boy is so full of energy! Like me he cannot be stimulated when trying to sleep or nap because he won't go down if there is something fun he is missing out on.

I am quickly learning that Grayson is the same way and cannot have stimulation when its time to sleep because on the first day back at daycare he slept 30 MINUTES the WHOLE day! When I picked him up he looked like a zombie he didn't sleep well that night and woke up in the middle of the night. Grayson didn't like his routine being thrown off! He is starting to nap better now at school! Thank goodness because I was freaked!

Corbin has a new saying and says "OH MY GOODNESS!" So cute! He came up to me this morning and said "OH MY GOODNESS Mommy Grayson made a mess!" He had just dumped out a small basket of toys. I just died laughing!

No potty training on the horizon. I asked his teacher about it at school because they potty train in this class and she said to wait until he initiates and we have been working on it at home to work on it at school. Oh well in time!

Goodbye Summer

Our last official day of summer was Friday, (most of which in the morning I spent at a pre-k registration training). ;( I have to go back to work on Monday and start registering pre-k children. I am slightly nervous about this but I know I can do it.


The boys are headed off to school again Monday as well and its back the same routine. This routine is one I am not particiarly fond of because it takes me forever to do the lunches, laundry, housework and dinner once we get home, when all I really want to do is relax and play with my boys! I am really going to miss them. Corbin is really starting to get into books and loves having me read to him, which I love! He has also been super rambunctious the past two weeks as we have been at my parents house everyday because my sister Carrie is in town with her girls and so we are soaking up tons of play time with them. Corbin and his cousin Morgan are quite the pair! They are so rambunctious when they get together. They are 8 months apart and love playing together, maybe a little too much! They have had to go to timeout a few times! Grayson is such a sweet, loving, cuddly baby! He hardly ever cries unless he is tired, hurt, or hungry. Speaking of hungry this kid loves to eat! So different from Corbin who would breastfeed a lot more often and really didn't care for solids. Grayson loves solid food and only nurses once when he wakes up, and then once around lunch time and then sometimes before bed, then he sleeps all night and then wakes up about 5:30 or 6:30 to have eat.

My family is leaving Monday to move my brother Brenton up to college in Lawrence, Kansas. He is going to my Dad and sister Carrie's almamater The University of Kansas-Go Jayhawks! ;0
Its weird to think that on the 18th of this month we will have lived in Texas 15 years! Brenton was only 4 when we moved here from Kansas and now he is going back.

Now we finally have an excuse to go visit my sister Carrie on Kansas City. We really need to its kinda ridiculous but we haven't really ever set aside money to take a trip. We got married, go our house in order and then started having kids and the expenses just keep going up. I am trying to convince him to take a trip with me for our 5 year wedding anniversary in November but now that Grayson is here his one year birthday is 5 days after our 5 year anniversary. So its not really a possibility. I wanted to go to my best friends wedding in Mexico in June but it was going to be too expensive. Oh well maybe some day, for now we can go visit my sister Carrie and her family and Brenton.

firsts for Grayson and other things and great Jason news!..

This morning Grayson pulled himself up to the side of his crib to standing today! I was actually worried about him not pulling up yet and I talked to my mom about it the other day and she said he was a very intelligent boy and will do it eventually and not to worry. And he did! :) He also waved to Jason and I from his crib- a first!

Poor boys haven't been getting good naps at all lately because of showing our house. On Friday I had a doctors appointment to try and get rid of this strep I have had since Tuesday (I think I got it from the Children's museum. I STILL have it the doctor gave me some medicine but the doctor on call I called today said the meds I had didn't come in that dose and kinda acted like I was reading it wrong! Um NO I am not a doctor and I didn't prescribe myself this so please give me something to make me feel normal! I am dying here and I can barely eat it hurts so bad.) Anways so we had a showing of our house yesterday so we stayed at my parents all day and Corbin does not really nap at other peoples houses because he gets way to overstimulated. So we ended up going to dinner and he was AWFUL! He wouldn't sit down or anything so I got up halfway through the meal because I couldn't eat anyways and took him outside to run off some energy! Man this kid was SOO hyper! It doesn't' help that I think Corbin got a cold from the children's museum (he kept putting his mouth on the play food which I kept telling him not to do) which he then gave to Grayson so they both have RUNNY noses! :(

So today we have an open house from 2-4 and so we will be out of the house All day again!

We are going out to dinner with Jason's Dad's family to celebrate Jason tonight because my hardworking, fabulous husband is now a Senior Engineer! I am so proud of you Jason! You really deserve this amazing honor because of all your hard work!

A bite?

Today our realtor called and said that someone that came to see our house yesterday emailed to see how much time we would need to move out of our house. There isn't an offer yet but I hope something comes of this possibly. Our realtor told them we need at least 45 days. I was hoping to get all packed up before school starts because once it starts, oh dear things are going to get crazy with me starting a new grade. We have already talked to my parents about possibly moving in with them for a while if there is an interim period between houses. My sister Merritt is moving to Dallas to work at a PR firm at the beginning of August and my brother Brenton is going to college at KU next year. So my parents are going to be empty nesters.

Yesterday we went to the Austin's children's museum, it was Corbin's first time there, with my friend Stephanie from work and her son Nevin. Nevin went to Corbin's daycare and they were good buds. Corbin gave Nevin a huge hug when he saw him! It was so cute! Corbin had the best time! He was so good! I talked to him before we went there and told he had to hold my hand because there would be a lot of people there and he followed almost all of my directions! I was so proud of him! We had a little trouble because he did NOT want to leave the train station that is upstairs he loved it! He would push the train sound buttons and then say "I did it!" and jump up and down all excited! It was so cute!


We spent Sunday at Jason's mom's house. We went to Target and were going down a toy asile when Corbin started screaming "SUPER WHY!" We looked and it was a cute cape, mask and a "Why writer." We were going to just let him play with it in the cart and we decided to hide it. I honestly didn't think he would wear the cape or mask and he would only play with the "why writer." Corbin starts looking around the cart and said "Mommy, Daddy where is Super why." Can you help me find it Super why?" So Jason melted and said "We are buying it for him!" We are so glad we did! He was so stinkin' cute! Jason's stepdad Joe took a picture of Corbin in the costume and we need to get it from him because its adorable!
